The Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam invites online applications for 10,673 regular teaching posts at the Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) levels in Assam. Eligible teachers having required qualifications and minimum service (as stipulated) can apply between 8 November 2025 and 30 November 2025. Salary will be in Pay Band-2 (₹ 14,000 to ₹ 70,000 + grade pay & allowances).

Post Types: Teachers for Lower Primary (LP) schools and Upper Primary (UP) schools.
Pay Scale: Pay Band-2 (PB-2) @ ₹14,000 to ₹70,000 plus grade pay and other allowances as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019”.

  Eligibility Criteria (General / Key):
• Candidate should be a permanent resident of Assam.
• Education & Professional Qualification:
  • For UP Schools: Graduate with required professional training (e.g., B.Ed or equivalent) and qualified in relevant TET (ATET/CTET) for UP level.
  • For LP Schools: (if similar to older notification) Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education + qualified in TET for LP level. (In earlier 4,500 post variant)
• Minimum continuous service criteria (for 10,673 posts variant): The candidate must be working as Contractual and State Pool Teacher under SSA with minimum 3 years of continuous service as on 30 Sept 2025.
• Age: As per notification for 10,673 posts, age details to be “available soon”.
  Selection Process:
• Merit-based – a merit list will be prepared district-wise and category-wise.
• Documents & credentials will be verified.

   Other Important Points:

• Candidates must apply only for the category/post they are eligible for (based on their service category if any).
• The Directorate reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment or vary the number of posts.
• For earlier variant (4,500 posts) of this recruitment, age limit was up to 40 years for unreserved category as on 1 Jan 2025.
• Medium of instruction & language of TET: For UP posts, either Language-I or Language-II of TET/CTET must match medium of the school applied for. dee.assam.gov.in
