BRICS Summit 2015

If equal to intensify strategic skills development and entrepreneurial initiatives in the country, the Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) today joined hands with the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (MCF).

India and the United States signed an agreement to share under a new law in the United States, FATCA, which will allow the automatic exchange of financial information between the two countries on tax evaders, September 30th tax information.

  • The pact will cover automatic sharing of information about bank accounts and financial products such as stocks, mutual funds and insurance and aims to fight against the menace of black money stashed abroad.
  • As of September 30, banks, mutual funds, insurance, pension and equity brokerage businesses communicate their Indian customer information in the US that will be shared with New Delhi.

Technology Scientist

Locally developed supersonic ground-to-air missile “Akash” was inducted into the Indian Air Force.

  • The missile system can target aircraft up to 30 km at an altitude UP TO 18,000 meters.
  • It has the ability to neutralize aerial targets such as fighter aircraft, cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles.
  • Note: Indian Air Force gave a first contract eight Akash defense system squads.
  • Each squadron has two fire units with four launchers.
  • Each launcher has a capacity to shoot three missiles in rapid succession.

The Akash system was developed by the Organization Defence Research and Development (DRDO) and Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL).
