The Centre today decided to give additional 50 days of work in areas affected by drought in the MGNREGA scheme to provide relief to farmers for monsoon deficit in various parts of the country.

  • The move will enable States to provide additional wage employment to the rural poor in areas affected by drought.
  • Note: Already drought, Karnataka declared in 27 of 30 districts, while Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are also likely to report areas affected by drought in their states.

  • The Indian government will launch the latest version of BOSS to replace Microsoft Windows and other operating systems in the future.
