The Union Cabinet approved the signing and ratification of an agreement between India and the Seychelles for the exchange of information with respect to taxes.

  • It will enable the competent authorities of both countries to provide assistance through exchange of information that is foreseeably relevant for the administration.

Pakistan today announced that it will not accommodate the Commonwealth Parliamentary Union meeting next month amid a row with India over its refusal to invite the President of Jammu and Kashmir entire conference.

  • Note: India had threatened to boycott the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, to be held from September 30 to October 8, after Islamabad refused to invite Jammu & Kashmir Assembly President Kavinder Gupta for the event.
  • The conference was to bring together stakeholders from Commonwealth countries in Islamabad.

The second FIPIC Summit will start tomorrow in Jaipur.

  • The meeting will be attended by the heads of 14 island nations of the Indo-Pacific ocean region.
  • Note: India is hosting the summit for the first time.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved ‘in principle’ to 11 entities to set up banks and payment offered such licenses on tap “in the future.

  • Note: This’ principle approval granted shall be valid for a period of 18 months, during which candidates must comply with the requirements of the guidelines and fulfill the other conditions that can be set by the Reserve Bank.
  • RBI said today that he will announce banking finance small licenses next month and eased concerns that these new entities may pose a threat to existing banks.

Google Inc. launched OnHub, a Wi-Fi router today, the latest move in the company’s efforts to prepare for the connected home and draw more users to its services.
