India and Vietnam have signed a joint declaration on cooperation in the defense vision for the period 2015-2020.

  • The statement was signed by the defense minister Manohar Parrikar and Vietnamese Minister of National Defence General Thanh at the end of the high-level delegation of talks in New Delhi yesterday.
  • A memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the coast guards of the two countries was also signed in the presence of the two defense ministers.
  • Note: General Thanh is on an official three-day visit to India at the invitation of Manohar Parrikar.

Delhi High Court allows NGOs Greenpeace India to use two of his accounts in order to receive and use the Chinese fresh donations for its operation from day to day

  • Note: The government had canceled the registration of Greenpeace under Regulations Act Contribution of Foreign Affairs (FCRA) for reasons of violating norms by opening five accounts to use foreign donations without informing the authorities concerned.

The Centre has set up a committee of 9 members under the chairmanship of former Secretary Vijay Kelkar Finance to review and revitalize the PPP model for infrastructure development.
