Bangladesh Cabinet approved a revised version of trade agreement with India under which the two countries would be able to use the land and water routes of each other to send goods to a third country of eliminate a long-standing obstacle in regional trade.

Union Cabinet today announced six per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees and pensioners with effect from 1 January this year.

  • This will be effective from April 10.
  • SBI is the first major bank to cut its base rate this year.
  • HDFC Bank also followed suit by reducing its lending rate from 0.15% to 9.85% as of April 13.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will tomorrow launch MUDRA Bank will provide credit of up to Rs 10 lakh small entrepreneurs and act as a regulator for “Micro-Finance Institutions (MFIs).

The roles envisaged for MUDRA include setting the guidelines for the policy of micro-enterprise business financing and registration of MFIs entities and their accreditation and ranking.
