China, Pakistan joint launch “Shaheen (Eagle) – 4 ‘Air Drill

  • China and its strategic partner Pakistan launched a joint air exercise called Shaheen (Eagle) -4 in China. It is the fourth edition of the exercise of air between the air forces of the two countries which was launched as part of a series of military exchange programs between the two countries.
  • In this edition of the year, Chinese contingent was represented by fighter jets, fighter bombers and early warning aircraft. Pakistani counterpart included combat aircraft and early warning aircraft.
  • Army of the Chinese air by this joint air exercise is prepared to expand the scope of cooperation with the countries of the region.
  • The first edition of the joint air drill between the two countries took place in Pakistan in March 2011. In late September 2013, the second drill was held in Xinjiang Uygur western region of China and took third drill again in the Pakistani province of Punjab in May 2014.

PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Badarpur-Faridabad Metro

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Badarpur-Faridabad Metro in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). The underground corridor linking the national capital with the satellite city and give a boost to economic growth in the region by fast passenger transport.

  • It is also the first metro environmentally Indian to all stations and depot were equipped with solar power.
  • It is the long corridor of 14 km and has nine stations Sarai (Delhi) to Mujesar Escorts. It is an extension of the currently-operational section ITO Badarpur Delhi Metro.
  • Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is nodal agency implementation of this corridor and was built at an estimated cost of 2500 crore rupees.

 e-Pragati ‘opens the way to digital AP

With Andhra Pradesh topping the country already in electronic transactions, the state government is now renamed the PA State Enterprise Architecture (EUB) as “e-Pragati ‘. Cespa is a complete architecture to leverage the latest advances in e-governance tools.

  • Developed in association with giant Wipro technologies in the space of eight months, “e-Pragati is a comprehensive framework for the implementation of e-governance and provides electronic services for citizens of Andhra Pradesh, a statement Official.
  • With e-Pragati, Andhra Pradesh became the first state in India to design and run the statewide enterprise architecture, the claimed release.
  • e-Pragati extends 33 Secretariat departments and more than 300 government agencies to AP. It aims to provide a package of services in 745 government customers (G2C), corporate governance (G2B), corporate governance (G2E) and Government-to-Government (G2G) areas, the statement said .

Union Government gives nod to a pension plan A Row

Union government gave its nod to the implementation of one rank one pension (OROP board) former military regime.

  • OROP provide former soldiers of the same rank and length of service uniform pension irrespective of the date of retirement. The advantage will be given with effect from 1 July 2014 and it will benefit all three Force Army, Navy and Air services-.
  • Pension will be re-set every five years and future improvements in pension rates would be automatically forwarded to the latest restated. The armed forces personnel who retire voluntarily would not be covered by the OROP regime. However, it will apply to staff who have retired prematurely.
  • All arrears will be paid in four annual installments and all the widows arrears will be paid in one installment. Estimated cost to implement OROP scheme would be about 8000 crore rupees to 10,000 crore rupees at present and it will increase further in the future.
  • Union government has also decided to form a member of the Judiciary Committee for consideration of the interests of pensioners from different periods and different ranks. The Committee will also cover inter-service issues of the three forces and submit its report within six months.

G-20 launches W-20 grouping for inclusive economic growth genre

Group of Twenty (G-20), a forum of 20 largest economies in the world, including India launched W20, commitment gathering women leaders to push the gender global economic growth.

  • It was launched in the ongoing G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Ankara under Turkish chairmanship.
  • The group would W20 20 women leaders of the G20 countries. It will function as an advocacy group to promote gender inclusiveness in the process of economic growth by empowering women.
  • It will host its first summit in Istanbul in October 2015 after all member countries nominate their respective candidates. Gulden Turktan Turkey was designated as the premier forum President W20.


Australian cricket player Shane Watson announced his retirement from Test cricket

  • I Versatile veteran cricketer Shane Watson of Australia announced his retirement from international Test cricket.
  • His decade long career test ended when opening Ashes in Cardiff, which England won by 169 runs. In this match Watson had 30 races and failed to take a wicket.
  • He also represented Australia at the One Day International (ODI) cricket and T20 formats. He played as a right-handed batsman and a right-handed medium fast bowler.
  • He made his debut in international cricket in 2002, playing his first ODI against South Africa. In 2010, he received the Allan Border Medal and again in 2011. He is only the second player (after Ricky Ponting) to win back to back Allan Border Medals.

Indian boxer Vikas Krishan won the silver medal in the 75 kg category at the Asian Championships

  • Indian boxer Vikas Krishan won the silver medal at the Asian Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.
  • In the last match of the 75 kg weight category, he was defeated by Bektemir Melikuziev Uzbekistan by 0-2 score.
  • In this edition of the Asian Championship, Vikas only won the silver medal for India. Shiva Thapa (56 kg), Devendro Singh (49 kg) and Satish Kumar (+ 91 kg) won the bronze medal each in their respective categories.
  • In addition, six Indians also qualified for the World Championships to be held in October 2015 and will be the first qualifying event for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Lewis Hamilton won the Italian Grand Prix 2015 Formula One

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain won 2015 Grand Prix Italian Formula One. This was his seventh win of the season.

  • His victory in the 2015 Formula One season started with the Australian Grand Prix and later won the Chinese Grand Prix, Bahrain Grand Prix, Canadian Grand Prix, British Grand Prix and Grand Prix of Belgium.
  • 1st place: Lewis Hamilton (Britain) Mercedes
  • 2nd Place: Sebastian Vettel (Germany) Ferrari
  • 3rd place: Felipe Massa (Brazil) Williams.
