The Indian Navy’s Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, has announced the recruitment for apprentice training for the 2025-26 batch. A total of approximately 210 posts (one-year and two-year apprenticeship programs) are available at NSRY, Karwar (Karnataka) and Naval Aircraft Yard, Dabolim (Goa).
Vacancy Details
- One-year apprenticeship: 168 vacancies at NSRY Karwar.
- Two-year apprenticeship: 12 vacancies at NSRY Karwar.
- One-year apprenticeship: 30 vacancies at Naval Aircraft Yard, Dabolim (Goa).
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- For ITI trades: Passed 10th class + relevant ITI certificate from NCVT/SCVT.
- For certain non-ITI trades (Crane Operator Overhead / Forger & Heat Treater): 10th pass. For Rigger trade: 8th pass.
- Age Limit:
- Minimum 14 years for non-hazardous trades; 18 years for hazardous trades.
- Upper age limit: Some reports state no upper age limit.
Training & Stipend
Selected apprentices will undergo hands-on training in ship-repair/maintenance trades under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Stipend rates vary: For ITI certificate holder Rs. 9,600/month for one-year training.
