Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
- Age‐Limit: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 33 years (as on 01 Jan 2026) for Graduate Level posts.
- Age Relaxation: Applicable as per government rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD etc.
- Additional Requirements: For certain posts (e.g., Senior Clerk, Junior Accounts Assistant) typing proficiency (English/Hindi) may be required. For posts like Station Master & Traffic Assistant, a computer-based aptitude test (CBAT) may be applicable.
Selection Process
- Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT-1)
- Stage 2: Computer Based Test (CBT-2)
- Depending on post: Typing Skill Test (TST) for typist posts OR Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for specific posts.
- Then: Document Verification → Medical Examination.
- Negative marking is applicable in CBTs (generally 1/3 mark deduction for wrong answers) (based on prior years’ patterns).
Salary & Pay Levels
- Salary is based on 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) levels. For example: Pay Level 4, 5, or 6 depending on post.
- For instance: Goods Train Manager – Level 5, starting basic pay around ₹29,200; Station Master – Level 6, starting around ₹35,400.
